In 2026, Apextech Intelligent Solutions Sdn. Bhd. successfully signed a Joint Venture Agreement with local partners to revolutionize traditional palm estate operations. This landmark collaboration marks the transition from conventional plantation practices to a fully integrated AI‑powered Smart Palm Estate.

This pioneering project will not only reshape the plantation ecosystem with automation, data intelligence, and sustainable energy integration, but also stand as the first smart plantation in Sabah’s industry. Smart Solar Plant

In 2023, Apextech Intelligent Solutions Sdn. Bhd. proposed a Smart Solar System to the State of Sabah, offering brighter, smarter, and more efficient street lighting than existing solutions. Beyond illumination, the system integrates advanced technology to generate income through a Public–Private Financing Initiative (PFI). This sustainable model empowers Sabah to reinvest in modern infrastructure, paving the way for a smart city powered by renewable energy. Our vision is clear: brighter streets, smarter cities, and a sustainable future for Sabah.

 

Al-Hidayah MOU

On October 17, 2025, Apex Group and Malaysia’s Al‑Hidayah Group Sdn. Bhd. signed a landmark MOU, marking a new era of strategic cooperation. The partnership combines Apex’s expertise in advanced digital technologies AI, cloud computing, big data, and intelligent construction with Al‑Hidayah’s deep local market presence. Together, they will drive two flagship projects: the World Islamic Center of Excellence (WICE) Complex, envisioned as Malaysia’s first smart landmark, and the D8 CEFC Digital Platform, designed to empower enterprises with digital transformation. This collaboration sets a benchmark for innovation, sustainability, and economic growth across Southeast Asia.

Between 2024 and 2025, Apextech Intelligent Solutions Sdn. Bhd. expanded its role into the construction sector, actively participating in several government‑linked projects. In 2026, Apextech Intelligent Solutions Sdn. Bhd. embarked on its prime initiative—the first Smart Agriculture project in Sabah. Through a joint venture with a landowner, Apextech is transforming 1,800 acres of palm oil estate into a fully integrated smart plantation program. This pioneering effort leverages advanced technologies in automation, AI, and sustainable energy to redefine plantation management. Apextech is also working closely with Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) in Sandakan, forging a strong partnership to drive research, innovation, and training. Together, these collaborations position Sabah as a leader in smart agriculture for 2026–2027.

Appointed in 2019, Apextech’s Co‑Founder and Managing Director for the China region has been instrumental in expanding the company’s international footprint. With strong leadership and resilience, he successfully navigated the challenges of entering overseas markets, passionately driving Apextech’s global vision. Previously, he served as Managing Director of a listed company in China, before opening new opportunities abroad. His international marketing initiatives span Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Dubai, and Malaysia, positioning Apextech as a trusted partner in technology, construction, and smart agriculture across diverse global markets.

Kevin Chan M.H
Executive Director

Kevin Chan brings extensive entrepreneurial and management experience to Apextech. In 2006, he pioneered innovation in Sabah by establishing the first IBS (Industrialized Building System) company, setting new standards in construction efficiency. In 2018, he expanded his ventures by opening a sawmill factory in Sipitang, strengthening his expertise in sustainable resource management. In 2023, Kevin joined Apextech to spearhead the company’s expansion into the East Malaysia market, leveraging his proven track record in business development. With a background in accounting and marketing, he combines financial acumen with strategic market insight to drive Apextech’s growth and regional leadership.

Ma Hai Jie
Executive Director

Based in Kuala Lumpur, Mr. Ma Hai Jie spearheads Apextech Intelligent Solutions’ marketing and operational strategies across West Malaysia. With extensive expertise in Malaysia’s diverse market,

he ensures seamless procedures, resolves challenges decisively, and drives impactful growth initiatives. His leadership strengthens Apextech’s regional presence, positioning the company as a trusted partner in delivering innovative solutions. Professor Lu Wei
Head of Smart Agriculture

Professor Lu Wei is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Southeast University, specializing in embodied‑intelligence robots and large‑model‑enabled rapid nondestructive testing. He earned his master’s and doctoral degrees from the Robotics Laboratory of Southeast University (2005, 2011) and was a visiting scholar at Michigan State University (2016–2017). With over 20 years of experience, his work spans robotics, optics, mechanics, electronics, algorithms, software, control, and AI, with deep expertise in integrating these fields to solve complex industrial, agricultural, and aerospace challenges.

Professor Fang Di
Chief Scientific Advisor

Professor Fang Di is a Zhongshan Scholar at Nanjing Agricultural University and a recognized academic leader under Jiangsu’s Qinglan Project. His research focuses on microbial conversion and high‑value utilization of organic waste, as well as soil organic matter turnover. He has led or contributed to more than ten major projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, published over 50 papers in leading journals, and holds eight Chinese invention patents. His contributions have earned him multiple national awards, including three First Prizes for technological and innovation achievements between 2016 and 2022.

Professor Dapeng Chen
Director of Intelligent Robotics & Human

Professor Dapeng Chen is a Professor and Master’s Supervisor at Nanjing, recognized as an Outstanding Young Key Faculty Member under Jiangsu’s Qinglan Project and a Leading Young Talent of Nanjing. His research focuses on multimodal human–computer interaction, intelligent robotics, and related systems. He has led multiple national and provincial research projects, published over 60 papers in leading IEEE journals and conferences, and holds more than 20 invention patents. His work has earned prestigious honors, including the National Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award, medals at the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, and several provincial science and technology awards.

Professor Xinping Ding
Manager Research Team and Task Division

Professor Xinping Ding is a distinguished scholar at Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, an IEEE member, and council member of several electrical engineering societies in Jiangsu and China. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Zhejiang University in 2007 under Professor Fangzheng Peng and Professor Qian Zhaoming. His research focuses on renewable energy power conversion, advanced control algorithms, and intelligent applications in high‑performance converters. He has published over 60 papers, holds more than 20 patents, and has received multiple provincial awards for scientific and technological progress.

Professor Yiguang Gong
Robotics Systems Manager

Associate Professor Yiguang Gong specializes in unmanned systems and intelligent computing, with extensive experience leading national and provincial research projects. His work bridges academia and industry through advanced robotics and AI integration. As Robotics Systems Manager, he oversees applied research and development in autonomous technologies, driving innovation and practical deployment across industrial and smart‑system projects.

Professor Yang Yang
Advanced Robotics Project Manager

Associate Professor Yang Yang, Head of Mechatronic Engineering at NUIST, specializes in soft and bio‑inspired robotics, artificial muscles, smart materials, and flexible sensors. With a Ph.D. from the University of Hong Kong and postdoctoral experience at HKUST, he has published over 60 papers and earned multiple international awards in robotics innovation. As Advanced Robotics Project Manager, he leads applied R&D initiatives, translating cutting‑edge academic research into practical solutions for industrial and smart‑system applications.

Zhong Wei
Robotics Development Manager

Lecturer Zhong Wei, Master’s Supervisor at NUIST, specializes in robot design, perception, control, and applications. With a Ph.D. from Southeast University, he has led multiple national and provincial research projects, published in leading robotics journals, and obtained 15 invention patents. As Robotics Development Manager, he focuses on bridging academic innovation with practical industry applications, guiding project development and mentoring young engineers in intelligent robotics.

Chuande Liu
Electric Mobility Project Manager

Lecturer Chuande Liu, IEEE Member and Master’s Supervisor, earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Southeast University in 2022. His research focuses on electric transportation engineering, special‑purpose robots, and UAV‑assisted landing technologies. With experience leading national research projects, publishing over ten papers, and securing four invention patents, he brings strong expertise in applied innovation. As Electric Mobility Project Manager, he supports the company’s initiatives in advanced robotics and smart transportation systems, ensuring practical deployment of cutting‑edge technologies.

Huan Wang
Mechatronics Development Manager

Lecturer Huan Wang, IEEE Member, specializes in compliant mechanisms, multimodal manipulators, and mobile manipulation robots. With degrees in mechanical engineering and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Southeast University, he has published over ten papers and holds six invention patents. As Mechatronics Development Manager, he applies his expertise in robotics and smart materials to advance innovative solutions in automation and intelligent systems.

Professor Kai Hu

Professor Kai Hu, Doctoral Supervisor at Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology, specializes in multisource data fusion and federated learning for industrial applications. With over 50 SCI‑indexed publications and extensive project leadership experience, he brings deep expertise in predictive analytics and intelligent automation.
